October 30, 2025 - January 17, 2026
Reception: December 6th, 2:00pm - 5:00pm
We are hosting a solo exhibition with critically acclaimed artist, Sowon Joo. The work featured involves a labor-intensive metal weaving process that requires a tremendous amount of time and effort, resulting in sculptural jewelry that is in perfect harmony with the wearer.
"I pour my thoughts, memories and spirit during the process of weaving, and the fragile and delicate nature of weaving with silver wire represents the vulnerability and fragility of life, especially in the early stages, which demands our care and protection. I design each piece as a subject within the context of the human body and consider it complete when the subject and the context are united in harmony and balance. In that sense, each person wearing my work is a part of my work; and my work, hopefully, is a part of the life of each person wearing it. By this relationship, even without direct communication, the user and I are part of each other’s life and experience." - Sowon Joo
