Potion: a project of liminal space and story between jewellery and flowers.
How can the practice of Ikebana coexist with jewelery? Were are the connections in stories for art jewelery and choosing flowers for arrangements? How can transitional engagements enable us to connect with personal understanding of flowers around us?
As an art jeweler I have always been interested in the territory jewellery demands off the body. The constant yearn for the body notions a between-ness towards memory for the stories had, and for ones yet to have been made. I wanted to challenge this dormant state of jewelery, offering another mode of being when not being worn. Something just as intimate, something fleeting. Here is where the active thinking for the otherness in Ikebana converged in my line of enquiry. Something holds the flower, grapples the branch and wedges the leaf. This could be the jewelery off the body.
